8 Pictures Of Lord Ganesha To Help You Celebrate

By James Dazouloute --- Lord Ganesha is an amazing deity who is as kind and as benevolent as the universe and mother earth are to its children.

Because he is constantly willing to share good fortune, willing to pass on wisdom and provide protection to one all. But who is this Lord Ganesha? Well going back in times, the records show that when Goddess Mother Parvati was taking a bath, she decided to create a human and put life into him. But because this is a decision she undertook on her own, her husband did not know anything about this event and being. And so when Lord Shiva came to see his beloved wife, Ganesha - the newly created boy stopped him, as boys always do when it comes to their wonderful and sweet mother, being overprotective. But Lord Shiva was not having it, especially since he did not know who that was, and so in a moment of anger, he cut off Ganesha's head, only for his wife to advise him that the human boy was her newly created son. And so legend has it that the boy's head could not be joined (For what reason I am not sure, since those 2 parents were powerful deities and could do anything), but the head of the first creature that was available was attached to Ganesha's body, and that happened to be an elephant. And because of such an event, trauma, disaster or great misunderstanding that took place, he is now forever known as Ganapathi or Ganesha. And that name was given because he was made the supreme Lord of the Ganas, which are representations of  the organs of perception and of action. But in other texts it was said that this great name also means intellect and wisdom. And Ganesh Chaturthi also popularly known as Ganesh Utsav, Vinayak Chaturthi’ or ‘Vinayaka Chavithi festival is observed on September 5 and is celebrated with lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Also important to note, that the first celebration was created by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja, the great Maratha ruler, and since then it is celebrated with lot of fervor. And all this sounds great, but how does any of this information help you in any way? Well Lord Ganesha is your friend, and since he went through this monumental difficulty of having his head cut off in trying to protect his beloved goddess of a mother, he then feels for you whenever you too are facing some difficulties. And anytime you are starting something new, you want to communicate with and show appreciation to Lord Ganesha, so you can find favor with him and then you can have success. But that's not all, because he is also known as the god of joy, happiness, and success, Ganesha has been blessing his devotees with prosperity and fortune ever since he was given a second life through his elephant head. Also he is thought to be the remover of obstacles, as he himself overcame lots of troubles. And for you to benefit the most from Lord Ganesha's Favor, you must know where best to place his statue so your energy and third eye can easily connect with him. And so the best placement of Ganesha should be in the northeast corner of your house. And if you are trying to pray, meditate and commune with a deity like Ganesha, this is also the best location to set up the pooja room, meditation spot. Also If you want success in your business or at work, then you want to place an idol of standing Ganesha. This brings energy and enthusiasm to work. But before I go, I beg of you my friend, do not be like most people in most religions who just do things as a duty and their hearts are not in it, but then they wonder why that god does not hear their prayer. So please remember the deep meaning behind Ganesha every time you see his image! He’s meant to show you the pathway to happiness, inner peace, and success in life. He’s a symbol of perseverance in the face adversity. He is a wonderful example of the human spirit at its best, in the form of a god.
