and breathe life into you for a purpose and a great destiny. And He declared that He created you in His Image, in other words, to resemble Him in every aspect like a King who has a first born son, and you are in fact A Little God yourself, and Heir to all that He created. Since no other beings have been created in God's Image to have the same attributes, same capabilities to create, same power of life and death in the tongue, and even the same power to hold Life and Death in their hands. And since God is the ultimate Monarch, He grants rights that all Human Travelers on this Earth, who are just passing through, should respect.
Also, when you ask the question: What Are Rights? The thought of the Founders of the U.S. Constitution quickly comes to mind, in that they were emulating God's intention and decree to God Given Human Rights. And within that context they proclaimed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. So with that great and universal statement, you are beginning to see the Things to which you are entitled to or allowed; and freedoms that are guaranteed.
However, when it comes to Rights, there is considerable disagreement about what is meant precisely by the term Rights. For the term has been used by different groups of people and different type of thinkers for different purposes, with different and sometimes very opposing definitions. And so the precise definition of this principle, about What Rights Are, is beyond having something to do with normative rules of some sort or another, and is controversial as well as Forever-Changing from day to day. But you can easily summarize that Rights are: That which is morally correct, just, or honorable. And within that framework, you can categorize what rights are into three main types, which are: Human Rights, Basic Rights and Civil Rights.
Begin with A member of the Homo sapiens species; a man, woman or child; a person, whom God has created through the vessels of an earthly mother and father. And so The Rights you have simply because you are human are based on the principle of respect for the individual who is the very Image Of God, The Creator Of All That Is Seen And Unseen, Known And Unknown, And Of All Beings - Weak And Powerful. And I placed this definition about God and You, for that is the very basis or platform that has been used, so that each human being can have a chance to live.
Additionally, the term "Human Rights" refers to those rights that are considered universal to humanity, regardless of citizenship, residency status, ethnicity, gender, or other considerations. So as you can see, the full scope of human rights is very broad. Because human rights refer to a wide variety of values and capabilities reflecting the diversity of human circumstances and history, where you must apply them to all human beings everywhere, as fundamental, and referring to essential or basic human needs. And many have said that Human Rights fall into 3 subcategories of Generations: First generation of civil and political rights. Second generation of economic, social, and cultural rights, and the Third generation of solidarity rights, includes the collective rights to political self-determination and economic development.
When it comes to the question: What Are Rights. Basic rights pretty much give you the simplest answers. And they are: A right to life, a right to choose; a right to vote, to work, to strike; also included are Children's rights, animal rights, workers' rights, states' rights, the rights of peoples, a right to one phone call, right to dissolve parliament, right to asylum, the right to get equal treatment before the law, the right to feel proud of what one has done; a right to exist, the right for the Law to sentence an offender to death, the right for a Country to launch a nuclear first strike to defend herself, the right for an individual to carry a concealed weapon for self-protection, a right to have a distinct genetic identity; a right to believe one's own eyes, the right of The Emissary Of God to pronounce the couple husband and wife, the right to be left alone, and even the right to go to hell in one's own way since you were given the Freedom Of Choice by God.
Now for these type of rights, this is where you have the most conflicts in the world. Because the Powers-That-Be refuse to give up their stronghold on an Individual, on an Ethnic Group, on a People and even on a Country. So what Are Rights When It Comes To Civil Rights? Well they are, per definition: Personal liberties that belong to an individual, owing to his or her status as a citizen or resident of a particular country or community. Civil Rights also mean to give freedom from certain types of discrimination. The various civil rights laws have made it illegal to discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, handicap, or national origin. Discrimination that interferes with voting rights and equality of opportunity in education, employment, and housing is unlawful. Also, The Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution, delineates specific rights that are reserved for U.S. citizens and residents, where No State can remove or abridge rights that are guaranteed by the Constitution.
What Are Rights... That You Need Them So Badly? Well you need them so badly because without them, you could not exist even in the womb, because you could very easily be aborted on a whim with no actual danger to the mother. Then you could never even be born without Rights, and just think that to this day in China, if a couple has a daughter instead of a son, the daughter is to be discarded with no rights at all. On top of that, without the Human Rights, Basic Rights, and Civil Rights, you could never go to school as a child, you could never be fed as an infant, you could be abused verbally, mentally and sexually openly in public. And of course, if no Persons and Government never passed laws as to What Rights Are, you could be shot on sight, you could be violated with no rules and regards, for life would truly become Only The Strongest Survives. For anyone could break into your home, anyone could steal your money, anyone could rape your kids right in front of you, anyone could take your jobs. But in all reality, I must tell you Beloved, That No Rights Are Worth Anything If No One Is Willing To Fight For Them And To Enforce Them. And that is where you come in.... Get It?
